Wake Up And Smell The Coffee - Part Five

The American Epitaph

"Operor vox res , adveho quis may"

It has been a week since we last communicated with one another; but I thought it only right and proper to back off for a few days and give everybody an opportunity to regroup and gather their thoughts. For some, this has been a dream come true, and for others a reoccurring nightmare. For some, the outcome of this election was history in the making, and for others it has been a week of sorrow and mourning the death of a nation as we have known it. Wherever you find yourself right now, remember this, the Spirit is grieved, this nation is divided, and there is a deep sense of groaning in the Earth.

If you are still reading my articles, then I think you know where I stand. I will not be changing my position based on the results of the Election, and I do not have to wait until next year to make my decision. My differences with you and my disagreement with the President Elect, is not about color, associations, or party preferences. Just so you will know, I am a registered independent, and I have a mixed-race granddaughter whom I love very dearly. However, one of my adult daughters made a series of bad choices without my knowledge or approval, that lead to bringing her first and only child into the world. Though I believe that it was a colossal mistake on her part, and one that brought negative consequences and will produce repercussions for the rest of her life, I do not have the power to change the inevitable or live in the past. However, I do have the responsibility to do the right thing by her and my granddaughter.

With that said, I am not writing from a position of arrogance, pride or prejudice; but rather humility, brokenness and disappointment. I am also writing from the heart of a concerned father and a righteous son of Yahweh.

I cannot I remember a time and a season in which I was more energized and excited about the days and months ahead. For a number of months I have been writing to issues and current events that we were all facing and now living. We are living in the time of reformation and should be moving in that direction; but now we will have to continue our efforts from a much weaker position, while combating and resisting the hidden agenda of the President Elect and his administration. Whether you believe this or not, this is a bad day for the innocent unborn and for marriage and family.

It is going to be a moment in history that could alter and amend the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and change forever the things that made this country great. The President Elect has already said that he was going to sign into law "the freedom of choice act" which will allow young preadolescent girls to have an abortion without parental consent, and will most assuredly promote the wholesale slaughter of untold millions of unwanted children. If you are not aware of the horrible effect of the passage of Roe-Vs-Wade in this nation, then you need to really look at the facts and what it has already cost in human life and how that it has demoralized and destroyed this nation from the heart out. Since Roe-Vs-Wade was passed over 50,000,000 babies have been ruthlessly evacuated from their mother's wombs and in some cases your tax money paid for both the abortion, and the mother's recovery.

Now, while the abortion issue and same sex marriage are not important issues to some of us, they are two that will not go away. Do I need to remind you that just two days ago Michael J. Fox the "used-to-be actor," called in a favor for his support for Barak Obama in that he said on nationwide television "that his first order of business needs to be signing into law a bill that will allow stem cell research." The only problem with stem cell research is that the precious life of an unborn baby has to be sacrificed in order to provide the stem cells needed for unregulated research. So you will understand what that entails, it includes late term, or partial birth abortions, where the baby is partially pulled out of the womb and a syringe in inserted into the base of his skull, and the stem cells that are in question are removed. Then the baby is pushed back into the mother's womb where he dies screaming in agonizing pain.

For some of you my writings have been hard and pointed, while others have stated that they helped them focus and renew their strength of resolve. From the beginning it was never my intent to offend or press all of your hot buttons; but rather to shake you from your sleep and awaken you to the reality that we now face. My boldness in addressing these issues has come with a great price; but as with all things, we must count the cost before building or going into battle. In the last few months, I have probably lost a few friends or damaged our relationships to some degree. What really saddens me is some of them prejudged my heart and intent without really understanding where I was going, and without considering what I was saying to be true.

What always amazes me about these times is the degree to which we square off and draw lines in the sand when it comes to the things with which we have differing opinions. And it speaks of the level of immaturity and lack of relationship that we still have in the body of Messiah, when we allow political opinions and views to divide and separate us. Most of the people who protested my positions on the issues are professed Christians who do not have a clue, and who are not making a significant difference anyway. In my estimation, their religion is invalid and their lack of interest and involvement in life is a gross abdication of their responsibility, and one for which they will answer with their life in the future. My word to them is, 'Do The Right Thing, Come What May"

Now, if that is not enough, we all have different opinions and views about our first and second amendment rights, and you would be surprised to discover how many of your friends and family could care less about either of them. In recent months, I have encountered a number of professed Christians who believe that the passing of the "fairness doctrine" would do us all a favor by countering the religious preaching and teaching that is presently being broadcast around the world. And while I agree with them in part, I totally disagree with them as it pertains to limiting or taking away our freedom of speech, or by trying to level the playing fields by forcing religious broadcasters to give equal time to opposing doctrines and views.

If we stand down and allow the "fairness doctrine" to become law under this filibuster proof democrat congress, we will all be sorry for the rest of our natural born lives. If we stand by and allow this administration to dismantle our military or disarm all of us, we will be taking two more giant steps toward totalitarianism and tyranny. The Constitution of the United States of America and the Declaration of Independence are the foundation and cornerstones of this great nation, and they are the only thing standing between us and tyranny. They were written to protect us from government intervention and oppression, and they are the only documents that give us the right to bear arms and freely speak our heart and minds about those who represent us. If these documents are altered or changed now by the appointment of liberal, left leaning Supreme Court Justices, we may very well never recover the country which we have all grown to love and respect. Now is the time, this is the day. The question is will you do the right thing come what may?

In conclusion, I remember another Democrat President that served in my lifetime. I was too young at the time to appreciate his famous remarks that have now become historic hallmarks of his legacy; but I will never forget where I was at the time, nor the moment that I received the dreadful news that our President had been shot and was assassinated. Everyone in my classroom that morning began to weep and cry out in fear and disbelief as our entire nation was brought to its knees and disillusioned by the announcement of this horrible event. His name was John F. Kennedy, he was loved by some and disliked by others; but he was our President at the time. One of the things that he is famous for saying was, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." Later we found out that the cold war and arms race had brought us to the brink of disaster, and that the Bay of Pigs incident was a Mexican standoff that was just a few hundred feet away from crossing a line drawn in international waters, which would have certainly lead to Nuclear War and the destruction of all life on Earth as we know it. Somehow cooler heads prevailed and we were able to back down our enemies for a season.

With that said, I will never forget the hopeless feeling that I had that day, and for weeks Kennedy's death was the foremost on our minds. We are now facing a similar crisis in this nation, and one that I am now old and wise enough to understand. This Nation has elected a much different kind of Democrat for their next President, and most of us know that the corrupting power of money and the disgraceful scourge of racism got him elected. We also know that his stated mantra is "Ask what your government can do for you, ask not what you can do for yourself and others"

For this I am deeply saddened and sorrowful. My mourning is for all of us and for those who will come after us. The choice is yours, will you stand with me in fight, or will you now be driven further underground and be silenced by the liberal left and agents of the defeated one?
